How It Works

1. Start with a Conversation.  Every custom tour begins with a detailed consultation. Complete our Custom Tour Questionnaire. We’ll talk through your target species, travel dates, comfort level, and any habitats or regions you’ve been wanting to explore.

2. We Design Your Itinerary.  Using your goals, interests, and priorities as a guide, we map out a route optimized for timing, habitat diversity, and species opportunity. We’ll build a route that maximizes your chances and matches your style – relaxed, fast-paced, photography-focused, or family-friendly.

3. Review, Refine, Confirm.  You’ll receive a detailed draft itinerary to review. We welcome your feedback and will refine the plan until it’s exactly right. Once confirmed, we handle all logistics so you can focus entirely on the birding.

4. Take the Field.  Your tour is led by an expert naturalist guide with in-depth regional knowledge and a genuine passion for birding. Whether you’re a seasoned lister or an enthusiastic intermediate birder, your guide will match the pace and depth of the experience to you.

Custom tours are priced individually based on your destination, group size, travel dates, and accommodation preferences. We build each itinerary from the ground up, so the best way to get an accurate picture of cost is to start a conversation with us.

 

Every custom tour begins with a full-guiding rate, which includes:

• Expert guide services: Dedicated naturalist guide with regional knowledge

• Pre-tour species briefing: Target species profiles, seasonal timing, and habitat notes

• Customized site selection: Locations chosen specifically for your target birds

• Optical equipment support: Spotting scopes available in the field

• Daily debrief & species log: A running record of every confirmed sighting

• Post-tour species checklist: A finalized list of all species observed, formatted for eBird submission

• Safety planning & logistics: Every tour includes a thoughtful, behind-the-scenes planning process that ensures your trip runs smoothly, comfortably, and well-prepared for the field
