Tour Overview

Discover Belize’s most wildlife‑rich landscapes on this immersive birding adventure. Across nine days, we explore three main locations: La Milpa, Crooked Tree, and Crystal Paradise, each offering its own signature, habitat, species and unforgettable birding moments.

Towering forest and ancient Mayan ruins set the stage for Ocellated Turkey, Great Curassow, Crested Guan, Keel‑billed Toucan, Slaty‑tailed Trogon, Red‑capped Manakin, and interior specialties including Scaly‑throated Leaftosser, Collared Trogon, and Royal Flycatcher.

Crooked Tree shifts the experience dramatically; wide horizons, open water, and a sunrise boat ride that delivers Jabiru, Russet-naped Wood-Rail, Yellow‑breasted and Ruddy Crakes, Black‑collared Hawk, Northern Jacana, Boat‑billed Heron, Agami Heron, and Sungrebe. Around the village, Yellow‑headed Amazon and Yucatan Jay highlight the region’s endemic flavor.

Crystal Paradise, with feeder activity features trogons, euphonias, tanagers, honeycreepers, manakins, and toucans. A full‑day excursion to Caracol blends Mayan history with highland birding - here, we are likely to encounter Northern Emerald Toucanet, Keel‑billed Motmot, Montezuma Oropendola, Black-headed Trogon, and Ornate Hawk‑Eagle. The Mountain Pine Ridge adds Orange‑breasted Falcon, Rusty Sparrow, Black‑headed Siskin, and Grace’s Warbler, and nearby Green Hills Butterfly Ranch offers dazzling hummingbird diversity, often with ten or more species.

This route offers excellent photographic opportunities, rich wildlife encounters, and a blend of cultural and natural history; a comfortable, well‑paced itinerary that captures Belize’s best habitats in one unforgettable trip.
