TIM BURKHARDT

Tim Burkhardt is a passionate birder - he studied at the College of Marin, where his academic interests in biology and ecology, particularly ornithology, herpetology, botany, and arachnology, laid the foundation for the naturalist he is today. With more than 2,250 world bird species and 2,300 herp taxa observed across 19 countries on five continents and 49 U.S. states, Tim holds one of the largest herpetological life lists in the country.
One of his most meaningful accomplishments has been guiding his daughter, Addison, to achieve her ambitious birding milestones, including becoming the youngest to reach 600 and 700 ABA species. Tim's enthusiasm for exploration and “taking the road less traveled” fuels both ambient birding and targeted twitching, and he loves helping others experience nature’s hidden treasures. Above all, he is driven by a desire to share the beauty, wonder, and complexity of the natural world with anyone eager to learn.
